This Privacy Policy explains what information CarAudioBlog collects when you visit caraudioblog.com, how that information is used, and the choices you have. It describes how the site actually works today, and we will update it whenever that changes.
The short version. You do not need an account to read CarAudioBlog. At the time of writing, the site does not use analytics tools, does not display advertising, and does not set cookies for ordinary visitors. The personal information we receive is what you choose to send us through the contact form. We do not sell personal information.
Who we are
CarAudioBlog is an independent car audio publication based in Dallas, Texas, USA. In this policy, “CarAudioBlog”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the publication. For privacy questions or requests, use our contact page and choose “Privacy request” as the topic.
Information you give us
Contact form
When you send a message through our contact form, we receive the information you enter: your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. The form may also record which page on the site it was sent from. Your message is delivered to us by email so that we can reply.
We use this information to respond to you and, where your message points out a problem, to improve the article concerned. We do not publish your message, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
Comments
Comments are currently closed, so we do not collect information through comments. If we open comments in the future, we will update this policy first.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the servers that host CarAudioBlog keep standard technical logs when pages are requested. These logs can include your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the date and time of the request, and the page that referred you. They are used to keep the site running, investigate errors and protect it against abuse, and they are kept for a limited period set by our hosting provider.
At the time of writing, we do not use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. At the time of writing, CarAudioBlog does not set cookies for ordinary visitors. Cookies are used only when someone signs in to manage the site.
If we add analytics, advertising or other features that use cookies, we will update this policy before they go live and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
Affiliate links
Some links on CarAudioBlog may be affiliate links, for example links to Amazon. When you follow one, you leave our site, and the retailer may use cookies or similar technology to record that you arrived from CarAudioBlog and whether you made a purchase, so that a commission can be credited to us. Retailers do not share your name, contact details or payment information with us, and affiliate reports show sales and commissions without identifying who made a purchase.

Advertising
CarAudioBlog does not currently display advertising. If we introduce advertising in the future, ads may be served by third-party networks that use cookies or similar technology, including to show personalized ads. Before that happens, we will update this policy to name the networks involved and explain how you can opt out.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Information may be handled by the service providers we rely on to run the site, such as our hosting and email providers, only as far as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if it is necessary to protect the site or other people from harm.
How long we keep information
We keep contact form messages for as long as we need them to deal with your message, and then delete them. If you ask us to delete your message sooner, we will. Server logs are kept for a limited period set by our hosting provider.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and some U.S. states, for example, have rights under their local privacy laws. To make a request, use our contact page and choose “Privacy request”. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on our legitimate interests to reply to messages and to keep the site secure.
Children’s privacy
CarAudioBlog is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable steps to protect the limited personal information we receive. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other websites
Our articles link to retailers, manufacturers and other websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Once you leave caraudioblog.com, this policy no longer applies.
