What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is a tracked link to a retailer. If you follow one and then make a qualifying purchase, the retailer may pay CarAudioBlog a small commission. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you went to the retailer directly. The commission comes from the retailer, not from you.

These commissions help cover the cost of running the site and publishing new guides.

How affiliate links are marked

Affiliate links on CarAudioBlog carry the rel="sponsored nofollow" attribute, which tells search engines that the link is commercial, and they open in a new tab. Buttons that lead to a retailer are labeled with wording such as “Check Price on Amazon”, so it is clear where a link goes before you click it.

A short disclosure appears near the top of every article, before the article itself begins, and a disclosure also appears in the footer of every page.

What commission does not change

• Commission rates play no part in which products we cover, which ones we recommend, or the order in which they appear.
• No manufacturer, retailer or affiliate partner can pay for coverage, a recommendation or a ranking position.
• No affiliate partner sees an article before it is published or has any say in what it says.
• A product can be recommended even if we earn nothing from it, and we will say when a product is not worth buying, even if it would earn us a commission.
• If a better option is available from a retailer we have no affiliate relationship with, we can still point you to it.

Free products and sponsorship

We do not accept payment, free products or sponsorship in exchange for coverage or a recommendation. If a product is ever supplied to us free of charge, that will be stated clearly at the start of any article that mentions it.

Prices and availability

Car audio prices change often. Any price mentioned in an article reflects the time of writing and may be out of date by the time you read it. Always check the current price and availability on the retailer’s site before you buy.

FTC disclosure

This disclosure is provided in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255). If something on the site looks like a paid endorsement and is not clearly disclosed as one, please let us know through our contact page.

Advertising

CarAudioBlog does not currently display advertising. If we add advertising in the future, it will be supplied by third-party ad networks, kept separate from our editorial content, and described in our privacy policy before it goes live.
